Queenslake is grateful to Kentucky Wounded Heroes and the Three Rangers Foundation for selecting our horse farm as the host location for the annual Mogadishu Mile Military Fitness competition on October 2, 2021.
Queenslake hosted 15 teams including multiple branches of the military, first responders, local gyms, and fitness enthusiasts for a grueling competition. The competition required participants to carry ammo cans from station to station and performing burpies, pushups, medicine ball slams, box jumps, and more burpies. Then, when fully exhausted, participants put on the 50 ruck sack and race the Mogadishi Mile.
The Mogadishu Mile commemorates the route taken by Rangers and Delta Force Soldiers from a helicopter crash site (featured in Black Hawk Down) to an appointed rally point during the Battle of Mogadishu on October 4, 1993. By the end, 19 American service members died and 73 were wounded.
The second annual Queenslake Mogadishu Mile will take place on October 1, 2022.
